CHIZZY WINS IN BARNSLEY AGAIN

Dave picked up his first Pro Tour win of 2017 in Players Championship 18 at the Barnsley Metrodome.

The previous day, Chizzy had reached theh last 32 but on Sunday he came to life to lift his first title since winning at the same venue in 2016.

Wins against Darren Johnson, Yordi Meeuwisse and Richie Edhouse put him in the last sixteen where he then saw off Jelle Klaasen, Brendan Dolan and Ryan Searle to reach the final where he won a final leg decider against Richard North.

CHIZZY'S MATCHPLAY RUN AT AN END

Dave's run of four consecutive quarter finals at the World Matchplay came to an end in dramatic fashion at the Winter Garden.

Chizzy kept up his good Blackpool form as he took out a resurgent Mervyn King in round one 10-7 but his run was to end there as he was edged out in a tie-breaker 12-14 to Alan Norris.

CHIZZY MAKES LAST EIGHT IN GERMANY

Dave reached another European Tour quartef final in Leverkusen, Germany at the HappyBet European Darts Open.

Entering the competition on day two, he faced an immediate test in defeating James Wade 6-2 to reach the final day.

Chizzy was a 6-3 winner over James Richardson to reach the last eight, where he fell to eventual winner Peter Wright 1-6.

CHIZZY JUST SHORT OF WINNING CHINA CUP

Dave reached another World Series event final at the Shanghai Masters in China.

Given arguably the toughest opening draw, Chizzy still managed to defeat veteran Paul Lim 6-1 to reach the final eight.

Wins over Gerwyn Price and Raymond van Barneveld, both by an 8-4 scoreline, took Dave to the final where he ran out of steam against his old adversary Michael van Gerwen, and was well beaten 0-8.
