CHIZZY BATTLES THROUGH
Dave only managed to reach the second round in Players Championship 18 in Dublin.
He came through in a tight 6-5 encounter with young Dutchman Mike de Decker but came unstuck in round two, losing out 1-6 to Darren Webster.
CHIZZY SNEAKS PAST SNAKEBITE
Dave edged past Peter Wright in the first round of the partypoker.com World Grand Prix at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin.
He lost the first set 2-3 but took advantage of the throw to take the second 3-1.
In the final set, Dave trailed 0-2 before an inspired comeback saw him take the deciding leg and progress through to round two on Tuesday.
BARNSLEY FORM CONTINUES
Dave enjoyed another good run at the Barnsley Metrodome in Players Championship 16.
He kicked off the day with a 6-3 win over Andy Jenkins, before seeing off Michael Mansell 6-0.
A further victory, 6-3 over Keegan Brown, saw Dave into the last 16 where he lost out 4-6 against Raymond van Barneveld.
SO NEAR BUT SO FAR IN DUBLIN
Dave reached the final of Players Championship 17 at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin. He found himself 1-5 down to Ian White before he cameback to 5-5 but was beaten in the last leg.
His road to the final started with victory against Ross Smith 6-2 before an eleven leg win with Michael Beal 6-5.
A trio of 6-3 wins against Ricky Evans, Jonny Clayton and Michael van Gerwen was followed by a semi final victory over Phil Taylor 6-4.
