CHIZZY SECURES UK OPEN SPOT

Dave secured his place in the Coral UK Open, reaching the last 16 on the final day of the triple-header qualification event at the Robin Park Tennis Centre, Wigan.

After losing out in his first match on the first two days, Chizzy fought back to reach the make sure of his spot in the Minehead event, beating Jeffrey de Graaf, Darren Beveridge and Robert Marijanovic, before he lost out 3-6 to eventual finalist, Zoran Lerchbacher.

NARROW DEFEAT FOR CHIZZY

Dave lost out in the first round of The Unibet Masters at the Arena MK, Milton Keynes but went down fighting in a tough match.

Showing signs of a return to top form with a 106 average, Chizzy was narrowly beaten in a final leg decider, 9-10 to Raymond van Barneveld.

NO LUCK OF THE IRISH FOR CHIZZY

Dave was beaten in the last 32 of the Mr Green Players Championship Finals at Butlins, Minehead.

Chizzy edged a tight first round in a last leg decider 6-5 over Joe Murnan before he came up against William O'Connor in the next.

Dave was beaten 3-6 by the Irishman.

CHIZZY OUT OF WORLD CHAMPS

Dave ended the year in disappointing style with a first round exit at the William Hill World Darts Championship at the Alexandra Palace, London.

Chizzy was defeated in straight sets by an inspired Vincent van der Voort 0-3.

Despite the early loss, Dave remains in the top eight of the PDC Order of Merit going into 2018.
